CAMP FACILITIES: We are 70% in doors and utilize our building that is equipped with a large auditorium, indoor swimming pool, play yard, large gymnasium with 16 foot rock wall and adaptive rock wall for rock climbing, computer lab, teen lounge that includes computers, gaming systems, tv screen and a pool table, 6.5 classrooms and we utilize all field space in the near by areas as well as go on trips once week.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We have both CIT and LIT programs. For CITs our goal is to give them experience on the field and off the field while giving them time to have fun as teens. We integrate them into groups of kids from our younger divisions to get camp experience, we hold workshops for them to learn different skills, and integrate them into our teen division as campers to have some fun. For our LITs, we have adopted the CDOS (Continual Development of Skills) system, where every week a new skill will be introduced. Our leaders will need to practice the skill the whole week. This program is intended for our leaders to grow skills and practice them while working. These programs are designed to help our staff grow within our program and for our staff to learn vital skills which they can use outside of the camp world.

CAMP FACILITIES: Each of our cabins is equipped with complete bathrooms/ showers, electricity, porches and plenty of space. (No bunk beds!) Cabins are designed to hold between 5-8 campers with a minimum of 3 staff members living in each cabin so that we can maintain our 2:1 camper counselor ratio.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Located along a secluded nine-mile lake in the Adirondacks of New York State is a private/ independent seven-week residential camp for 130 children from across the United States and around the world. Camp Northwood is oriented toward children with low self-esteem, immature social skill development, high functioning autism, Asperger's Syndrome and learning challenges in need of a structured and supportive, socially therapeutic summer experience. Northwood's program, developed and supervised by an outstanding staff of special educators, focuses on the development of independence, social skills, self-image and the maintenance of academic skills.

Each Northwood camper participates in a fully non-competitive, socially oriented, main-streamed styled camp program. A camper/ counselor ratio of 2:1 provides a high level of individualization at activities and in the cabin setting insuring success. In addition to traditional camp activities, each child participates in an individually designed academic program intended to help maintain current skill levels throughout the summer season. Northwood campers are exposed to a variety of social experiences designed to foster age-appropriate social skill development. Group social skill sessions and constant reinforcement within the cabin setting cultivate growth in each camper's ability to work as part of a team, interpret social situations and feel a sense of inclusion in the camp community.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Neglia Ballet's "Storytime Explorers" is a creative arts summer camp (ages 5-8) where children are the story keepers and their imagination the storyteller. Our amazing and talented staff create a safe, fun and nurturing environment for children to apply their imaginations. Over the course of a week children will read classic books, create costumes, scenery and dances allowing them to retell a story, together, in their own way. At the end of a week, parents will be invited to a special performance and reception to watch their child's creativity come to life.

CAMP FACILITIES: Founded in 2001, the JBFC shows hundreds of films each year in our five-screen art house theater and pioneers a unique, hands-on approach to media literacy at our Media Arts Lab across the street. Learn to watch feature films the way a director does (and write reviews!) and explore a different type of media—including animation, film, sound, and gaming—each day. In addition, you’ll participate in film-related challenges and activities as you work together in groups.

On the Set
Time to make a movie! Campers write, direct, film, and edit a short collaborative film in a professional environment. Working in a group, you’ll learn to pitch and develop ideas, storyboard, design light and sound, and edit with Adobe Premiere Pro CC. This filmmaking immersion is an opportunity to see a short project through from concept to completion.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Founded in 1968, the GO Project has a long history of serving public school children that are struggling academically. The GO Project currently serves 722 students in grades K-8 through our summer (GO Summer) and school year program (GO School). Unique to the GO Project model is the partnership we have developed with independent schools in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. These schools donate space and resources to the GO Project to enable us to operate our programs in a cost efficient manner. SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Enrichment Coordinator - Each afternoon during the summer, GO Project provides students with a variety of art and movement experiences that intentionally complement and support the morning academic periods. The GO Project is seeking Enrichment Coordinators to oversee the implementation of high quality enrichment programs with our elementary school students. Coordinators will directly supervise 5-10 Activity Specialists and act as a campus leader for one of four sites.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Yomawha features beautiful woodlands, a mountain stream, a lake for boating, private swimming pool, climbing wall, state-of-the-art playground and various athletic fields. In this country-like setting, campers ages 5 to 15 enjoy use of the swimming pool and private lockers dedicated to the Y, with instruction in the morning and free swim in the afternoon.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We offer campers a wide variety of challenging, enjoyable and stimulating activities in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere. CAMP FACILITIES: At Timber Lake West, Campers live in modern, paneled cabins called bunks. Each bunk is equipped with full bathrooms and storage space for each camper's belongings. Three to four counselors and eight to ten campers make up each bunk.

Campers make their beds, care for their own belongings and practice good personal hygiene. Our professional housekeeping staff maintains and sanitizes the bathrooms daily. A complete packing list and Parents' Manual make the process of preparing for camp as easy and convenient as possible.

The cabin or bunk is where campers learn to live together as a group, to share and to respect each other. We see bunk living as the core of the camp experience - central to our mission of teaching children the skills of making and keeping friends.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Timber Lake West's unique four-week summer camp program offers children a place to make new friends, try new activities and grow as a person. We believe that camp has to be safe and it has to be fun. That's what Timber Lake West is all about. We take all the fun, spirit, excitement and tradition of a full season camp experience and power pack it into four weeks.

Our athletic program includes clinics, instruction, inter-camp tournaments, and plenty of games played just for fun. We create the right balance between competition and good sportsmanship, allowing every camper to be comfortable joining in, while also promoting teamwork and spirit. At Timber Lake West, winning is great but our goal is that every camper walks off the field or court with more friends and feeling better about him or herself.

HARDCORE ATHLETICS:
Hardcore Sports is designed to provide extra instruction and drills in various sports for those campers who elect to work with extra intensity on their skills. The work-out sessions are held during an elective or swim period for those campers yearning to improve their skills, practice for upcoming tournaments or play at a higher level of competition. These campers get a chance to work on their mechanics through drills, practicing game situations, improving their mental preparation, building self-esteem and getting into or staying in great physical shape.

Two periods each day are devoted to swimming and water sports. Our emphasis is on safety, instruction and fun. Our experienced Red Cross certified waterfront staff provides special attention to improving swim skills with the main emphasis, of course, on safety. Timber Lake West's two heated pools set us apart from others. Our Olympic size pool makes free swim a favorite activity while our completely private spring-fed lake, right in the heart of camp, provides the thrill of water-skiing and an extensive boating program, featuring instruction in canoeing, kayaking, row boating, surf bikes, paddle bikes, banana boating and water skiing.

Adventure at Timber Lake West comes alive when our campers challenge themselves to try activities they have never done before. Whether it’s hiking in the mountains, scaling our 35 foot climbing wall or soaring down our zip line, camp is meant to be an adventure.

Our low ropes course gives campers the opportunity to work together toward a common goal while building friendships, self-esteem and self-confidence.

As part of our program each bunk meets with our trained and experienced staff on our low ropes/team building course and on overnight camp outs. As a cohesive unit, the campers work together to accomplish the goals that they set for themselves at the beginning of the four week session.

Each day campers select two activities from a wide variety of athletic, adventure oriented, and performing or creative arts electives. Combined with our scheduled sports and waterfront activities, the Elective periods allow campers to customize their summer program. Every Wednesday is uniquely programmed for our entire campus. After a well-deserved later wake-up and breakfast on our campus, campers head out to a special morning of electives. EVENING ACTIVITIES:
Each evening is filled with a fun activity. Whether it's a “Broadway” production in our theatre, a campfire, masquerade social, outdoor games, contests or a late-night league game on one of our lighted courts, evening activities are among the best times of the day at Timber Lake West. Before bedtime, campers stop with friends at our Planet West Canteen, complete with snacks, Pop-a-Shot, ping pong, pool tables and air hockey.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Teen programs are strong and we’re proud that we continue to attract returning older campers year after year. In spite of all of the other choices that high school-aged children have in today’s world, the large majority of our campers choose to return to Timber Lake West all the way through the end of their Teen summers.

The Timber Lake West Teen Program begins with diverse programming, more day trips out of camp, more choice and flexibility daily, a later wake-up (they ARE teenagers, after all), many community service opportunities and strong staff and supervision. Our Teens alternate between a two-day Whitewater Rafting trip or a two-day trip to Hershey/Dorney Parks.

Our Teens are also part of our apprenticeship program in camp, through which they choose a specialty area and an age group with which they think they might like to work. For several hours each week, they will be assigned to work with these groups so that they can get a feel for coming back as Junior Counselors.

We provide structure, supervision, feedback and training so that they are successful AND prepared to be part of our staff!

CAMP FACILITIES: Summer at Coupé is located at Coupé Theatre Studio facility which includes 7 fully equipped dance studios with sprung floors, mirrors, installed barres, and state of the art audio and video equipment.

There are multiple waiting rooms and observation windows for parents as well as dressing rooms and rest rooms for boys and girls.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: For decades, Summer at Coupé has offered training in the performing arts which many choose as an extension of their year-round interests in dance and theatre.

Classes during the Summer at Coupé session are structured for groups of students based on their age and experience in the performing arts. The curriculum and daily scheduling keeps campers busy from 10 am until 5 pm in class and workshops, with time for lunch.

Campers may order lunch on a pre-set menu from a local deli or bring their own lunch from home. A snack bar for water and healthy snacks are on the premises.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Final performance is presented on the last day of camp, featuring our 5-week campers, for a family and friends audience to see the projects, dances and musical theatre campers have completed during the five-week session.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Summer at Coupé is the summer program offered by Coupé Theatre Studio, which is a year-round school for the performing arts. Classes at Coupé are available for students age three through senior year in high school, and include: ballet, jazz, tap, demi pointe and pointe, theatre dance, hip hop, modern, lyrical jazz, acro, kinders, musical theatre, acting and voice.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers attending Shankitunk for a week of summer fun will be assigned to one of our 15 rustic wooden cabins along the meadows edge. We have an outdoor swimming pool, low ropes course, basketball court, volleyball court, dining hall, craft hall, recreation pavilion, soccer field, archery range, Science Center, bathhouse with hot water and showers, maintenance shop, hiking trails, and river access for nature exploration.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: 4-H Camp Shankitunk is the oldest continuously operating 4-H camp in New York State. We first opened in 1927 as a vacation getaway for farm children in Delaware County, and have been providing a memorable experience for campers from all over the state and even other states ever since.

Our program has many rich traditions that have inspired grown campers to send their children back and even their grandchildren. Our chicken BBQ dinner, visit from the Delaware County Dairy Princess, closing candle ceremony, songs, class options, friendships, and flag salute are just a few. We hire a staff of approximately 40 each year, many of whom have been with us since they were old enough to attend Shankitunk themselves, but we love to welcome new faces into our camp family too. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Shankitunk does offer a CIT program for campers age 14 and older who are interested in becoming future counselors. Campers complete level one in team-building, level two in communication and self reflection, and then attend a two week program where they devote all of their class time the first week to becoming a counselor and spend the second week shadowing a counselor to apply what they have learned. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Program participants can be day students or live on campus and enjoy a full schedule that provides recreational activities on weekends and afternoons. Since 1990, the Summer Program has successfully combined not only academic enrichment and remediation, but also new experiences, opportunities and fun.

Admissions: The Gow School has a rolling admissions policy for its Summer Program. Personal interviews and tours of the campus are given throughout the year. Academics: The Gow School Summer Academic Program is a challenging and stimulating learning environment which provides students the opportunity to improve their academic skills. With an average class size of five students and individual attention from teachers, students achieve success in areas they never thought possible. Teachers use multi-sensory teaching strategies to reach students with different learning styles.

Classes such as Reconstructive Language and The Writing Process enable students to develop and enhance their language and writing skills, while courses such as Studio Art, Videography, and Metal Technology provide a chance to express creativity. Students may sign-up for four different classes during the morning academic session. Individual afternoon tutorial sessions are available for an added fee.

Florida Film Academy at Gow: During the Summer of 2015, The Gow School is pleased to offer a special afternoon Videography course presented by The Florida Film Academy. Classes will run from Monday, July 15th through Friday, July 19th from 2-5 pm.

Afternoon Activities: Each afternoon, Summer Program students participate in three Activity Instructional Clinics (AICs). AICs help students learn new skills and enjoy a full summer experience. During activity sessions, students are encouraged to participate to their level of comfort. Character building and teamwork abilities are emphasized. The AICs include traditional athletic activities such as basketball and capture the flag, along with non-traditional sports such as crab soccer and tennis softball. Other activities may include arts & crafts, hiking and biking. Specialized sessions such as archery and the low ropes courses are coached by trained supervisors.

Weekend Trips: Weekend trips are one of the many highlights of The Gow School Summer Program. Three overnight excursions are taken during the summer. These trips are not only fun and exciting, but also culturally and educationally rewarding. Experiences take advantage of local attractions, and range from camping trips to resort locations to museums and amusement parks.

It’s true! Many of our campers choose to stay for all seven weeks of the summer. Staying for the whole season really allows campers to hone their skills in their class areas, go on more wilderness trips, and means they won’t miss out on any of the big summer camp events! In addition, 7-weekers get to enjoy special events in between the 4-week and 3-week session break such as Beach Day and a day trip to the Great Escape amusement park. Some campers choose to register for the first 4 weeks, and then decide later to upgrade to the full 7-week session, and that’s just fine by us. If you’re unsure whether your camper would like to be a 4-weeker or a 7-weeker, don’t worry…it only takes a mouse-click for us to change a 4-weeker to a 7-weeker. Feel free to discuss that option with your child if you think they could benefit from a longer session!

4-WEEK SESSION JULY 1, 2018 – JULY 29, 2019 Standard Rate: $6,400
The first half of the summer consists of our 4-week overnight program. The 4-week session allows campers to learn new skills and take part in a variety of classes. The session includes many themed events which lead up to our “Color Wars”, in which campers don their colors of Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, or Green and see which team will come out on top: these games have been a camper favorite for decades!

“ROOKIE CAMP” (2 Weeks, for ages 6-10 only)

For the first two weeks of the 4-Week session, we run a two week “Rookie Camp” for first-time campers between the ages of 6 to 9 years old. We feel this short session is a good bite-sized introduction to summer camp, and also allows campers the flexibility to stay on for the remainder of the 4-week session if they get bitten by the “summer camp bug” and want to stay longer!

3-WEEK SESSION (Overnight) JULY 31, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $4,600

The 3-Week session offers two options to campers: a traditional overnight summer camp program, or a day-camp option. The 3-Week session is full of fun classes Mondays – Fridays, with special events planned on the weekends. It’s also the session in which our famous GREEK GAMES take place, as well as some of our campers’ all-time favorite camp events like the “Pok-O-Palooza” music festival, the Jack’s Cup sailing race, Casino Night, and the Pok-O County Fair.

3-WEEK SESSION (Day Camp)* JULY 21, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $2,100 for a first-time camper.

Our day campers attend camp from approximately 9am to about 5pm Mondays through Fridays. Just like overnight campers, they get to create their own class schedule from a list of over 30 program offerings. They are, of course, assigned to a cabin and counselor and have their own bunks so they have a comfortable spot to relax during Rest Hour. Day campers also have the option of staying the night for an evening activity or program if they wish, and we can easily make those arrangements, although a small fee may apply. They also have the added bonus of being able to stay overnight the last week of camp for no additional fee!

CAMP FACILITIES: Studio for class is air conditioned and easily accessible by public transportation, and close by delis and food stores for students to buy lunch.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Improv Intensive classes are designed for students 12-17 with or without prior theatre or improv experience. Students will have the opportunity to explore their abilities as performers, improve self-confidence, and just have fun. They will learn techniques of improv with some on New York�s finest improv performers, creating material from their own experience and outside suggestions, to be exhibited on the final day of class in a performance for family and friends.

Chicago City Limits is a New York institution, having won awards and the respect of the comedy and theatre communities for many years. All instructors have wide experience teaching children and teens in schools, camps, and private institutions.

CAMP FACILITIES: In both NYC and LA, campuses are accessible only with a valid AMDA photo identification card, which High School Summer Conservatory students receive.

Supervision is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. When students are not in class with our world-class faculty, they are supervised by members of our trained AMDA staff.

Students leave campus only for planned and chaperoned outings, which may include going to a Broadway show or visiting NYC and LA tourist destinations.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The court is our classroom - we focus on good sportsmanship, quality instruction, fun and safety! Our athletic program features top-quality instruction by experienced varsity & college coaches on outstanding facilities. The right balance between competition and just having fun allows every camper to be comfortable joining in, while promoting TEAMWORK AND SPIRIT. Winning is great, but our goal is that every camper walks off the field or court with more friends, more confidence, and higher self-esteem.

Highly skilled counselors will guide them in swimming, arts and crafts, cooking, movement, music, science, tennis, and, of course, sports and games in the outdoor courtyard. The three youngest groups will also have waterplay 2–3 times per week.

CAMP FACILITIES: Features beautiful woodlands, a mountain stream, a lake for boating, private swimming pool, climbing wall, state-of-the-art playground and various athletic fields.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: In this country-like setting, campers enjoy use of the swimming pool and private lockers dedicated to the Y, with instruction in the morning and free swim in the afternoon. There are also private playing fields and a multi-purpose shelter which allows us to creatively schedule other activities during hot or rainy weather.

We offer campers a wide variety of challenging, enjoyable and stimulating activities in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere. Activities include sports, arts & crafts, nature study, boating, climbing wall, hiking, music, drama, and more!

Throughout the summer, camp is filled with entertainers and special days to add to the fun. Our expert activity specialists, fully trained counselors and professional supervisory staff are all there to ensure your child has a safe, nurturing and fun summer.
