George School is the solar-powered Alternative Energy Center. It’s a Philadelphia meetinghouse from 1812 conserved and moved to our campus. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership is the backbone to our program. To us, Leadership looks different for everyone. By building relationships, practicing open and honest communication, and empowered decision making. Our community values self-expression, compassion, cooperative leadership, and living joyfully.

Throughout every aspect of our program, campers and staff develop lifelong friends, indelible memories, and tangible skills. We grow leaders each summer who make lasting impacts on their communities, families, and the world.

Two aspects of our program that specifically are designed for intentional communication, empowered decision making, and relationship building include Crew and Group. Crew is the daily "chores" group that every camper participates in. This is anything from cooking breakfast, to cleaning the stalls and feeding the horses, to taking out the trash and recycling around camp. We do hard work, and then we get to play! Group is our evening program that is defined as "the part of Longacre that makes us unique". This is an intentionally facilitated communication workshop for all of our campers and staff. This is where we use communication tools and skills to better understand ourselves, others, and how we interact with the world.

Longacre Leadership Camp is a residential, co-ed summer camp located in Central Pennsylvania for students aged 8 - 18. We are located on a 114 acre farm 40 minutes north of Harrisburg and will be enjoying our 44th summer this year. Position dates are from June 14th - August 15th 2018.

We hire camp counselors, AKA Big Kids aged 21 and over who are passionate about working with young people and who are committed to building a community. CAMP FACILITIES: Swope Music Building houses state-of-the-art rehearsal and performance spaces, classrooms, practice rooms, and faculty studios. Students are housed in an on-campus residence hall, adjacent to the dining hall.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The West Chester University High School Summer Music Institute offers resident and commuter options for students currently in grades 9 through 12. Students have the opportunity to perform in a variety of large and small ensembles including wind ensemble, string orchestra, choir, flute ensemble, clarinet ensemble, saxophone ensemble, double reed ensemble, brass ensemble, percussion ensemble, and vocal ensemble. All ensembles perform at the end of the Institute, and all concerts are open to family and friends. Auditions for a solo recital are held at the beginning of the week.

The Institute’s faculty consists primarily of West Chester University professors, all of whom are active performing artists in the Philadelphia region. Each student receives two 30-minute private lessons and one studio masterclass on their primary instrument or voice. Students will also participate in music theory/ear training, college prep, and audition prep classes.

Recreational activities include volleyball, a pizza party, and other organized evening activities.

CAMP FACILITIES: Conshatawba is a Resident Camp that specializes in The Arts and Adventure. We have a ceramics and pottery program, arts and craft building, theater stage,pool, climbing rock wall and zip line, low ropes course, archery field and numerous sports fields. Conshatawba has beautiful lodges, platform tents, and cabins for lodging.Girls attend themed weeks of camp throughout the summer with this year's most popular sessions being a Percy Jackson session and a Hunger Games themed session. Conshatawba offers resident camping for girls ages 8-17 as well as family sessions.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Conshatawba has adventure programming specializing in backpacking trips. Conshatawba offers a 4 sided climbing tower and zipline. Conshatawba also focuses on the arts with an indoor theater and arts studio.

Our camps are staffed with activity specialists, a cook, a health supervisor and specialty staff for adventure programs. Staff members are carefully selected for their skills as well as how they work with children and adults. They participate in weeklong training sessions where they earn appropriate certifications. Camp Conshatawba offers programming for Girl Scouts to build girls of confidence, courage and character.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our CIT (counselor in training) program is a learning and transition program for 13, 14 and 15 year-olds. CIT's are organized into groups of 15 boys or girls and get to experience the best of two world's at camp. The counselors for these groups are chosen for their mature, yet youthful, outlooks. A CIT day encompasses work experience, bunk activities including lunch and swimming, as well as sport and recreational periods. CIT's work with both specialist and bunks developing leadership and organizational skills. Daily bunk-time activities include co-ed games, group meetings and discussions, swim and water games, as well as, other recreational opportunities. As the oldest campers, CIT's are rewarded with day trips and after-hours activities supervised by their counselors, division leaders and other staff.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Yesh utilizes two sets of staff; one dedicated to professional instruction for all the courses and the other devoted to the residential life of the students. Instructors and coaches with professional expertise ensure that the educational aspect of the camp is truly state-of-the-art, so that the residential advisors can devote their time to the students' evening, weekend and Shabbat activities.

Yesh Shabbat features small class sizes and low student-to-faculty ratios.

The Y is a non-profit charitable organization that strengthens the foundations of our community. Thanks to donations to the Y's Annual Campaign, we can offer financial assistance to those unable to pay the standard fees.*

Anyone is invited to apply for an income-based YMCA membership or financial assistance. Those receiving income-based memberships are also eligible to receive discounted rates for programming, including camp!

OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp Chippewa, located in West Grove at the Jennersville YMCA provides campers from preschool age through 6th grade with a summer they'll never forget. Campers have an opportunity to make friends and participate in a variety of camp activities including: arts & crafts, sports, free swim, field games, community service and weekly themed activities.

Camp Chippewa runs for 14 weeks from May 30 through September 2 and registration for camp is done by the week to allow families flexibility to select camp weeks that work for them. Camp Chippewa also offers a variety of specialty camps including: aquatics, dance, theatre and junior lifeguarding. Camp runs from 9 AM - 4 PM each day, aftercare is included in the price of camp. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Broadway Dreams Foundation is a week-long day intensive where our students work with a faculty of Broadways finest. During the course of the week,the students will be trained in classes and have rehearsals with the staff in order to prepare for the showcase that is presented at the end of the week to family friends,and industry agents!

On the last day of the intensive,students will audition for Telsey and Co as well as other Casting Agency's. More than 3,000 students have participated in Broadway Dreams programs.

Past students have gone on to perform with Broadway, national touring and regional productions including Bring It On: The Musical (Ryann Redmond, Calli Alden), Bare (Ariana Groover), Memphis (Lindsay Roberts), The Book of Mormon (Paris Nesbitt), Shrek (Chase Todd), Evita (Katie Huff), The Addams Family (Ethan Wexler), A Chorus Line (Sidney DuPont) and Spring Awakening (Blake Daniel).
